Neighbour points firearm at man because he allegedly stole his clothes

"One of them drew a firearm and pointed at the complainant, threatening to shoot him".

Police arrested a 28-year-old suspect on Wednesday, 18 April after he allegedly drew a firearm and pointed it at his neighbour.

The complainant said he was allegedly with two of his friends on the street in Eastpark when suddenly seven men and a woman appeared. He said he knew one of the men and the woman, as they were his neighbours.

Solomon Sibiya, spokesperson for Kagiso Police Station said the suspects confronted him and accused him of stealing clothes from a house belonging to one of them.

“One of them drew a firearm and pointed at the man, threatening to shoot him. They later left the scene without any shots being fired,” said Sibiya.

The matter was reported to the Kagiso Police who then launched a manhunt for the armed suspect. He was cornered in the area and arrested. The firearm was not recovered during the arrest, but the police are still investigating the matter.

The suspect will appear in court soon.
