Foreigner caught selling dagga from spaza shop

A tip off from community members led police to the suspect.

Kagiso Police Station’s social crime team received a tip-off on 30 May and responded swiftly.

The tip-off led them to a foreign national selling counterfeit cigarettes and dagga in Kagiso Extension 12.

On arrival at the given address, the team, together with its crime prevention colleagues, searched the suspect’s shop and recovered a quantity of dagga and the packets of illicit cigarettes.

The suspect was arrested and later detained at Kagiso Police Station. He will appear in court soon.
