Man breaks into friend’s home and steals his possessions
When the victim questioned his friend about the break-in, the friend became aggressive and threatened to stab the victim.
A burglary suspect was arrested on Sunday, 10 June after he had allegedly broken into his friend’s residence and stolen his laptop and cellphone the previous day.
The friend reported that he left his shack on the day of the burglary and later received a call from one of his other friends, saying he had seen a man breaking into his home.
The witness was able to describe the suspect to the victim.
The description matched the appearance of a friend exactly, so the victim decided to return home. While he was on his way to inspect the damage to his shack, he came across the suspect. When he questioned the suspect about the break-in, the suspect became aggressive and threatened to stab him.
Upon arrival at his residence, the victim noticed that one sheet of corrugated iron had been removed to gain entrance to his shack and his belongings were gone.
He lodged a complaint at the Kagiso Police Station where a case docket of house-breaking and theft was opened.
The suspect was searched for, and apprehended at his place of residence in Zulu Jump. He is due to appear briefly in court soon.
