According to Democratic Alliance ward councillor, Whitey Moleba, the space was turned into an illegal dumping site with overgrown grass and trees.

He was especially concerned since this open space also serves as a playground for a nearby creche.
He urges community members to rather use the Luipaardsvlei Waste Disposal Site. All customers, including residents, are required to open an account to use the site.

Mogale City residents may discharge loads of up to 500kg for free once every seven days, while loads that are in excess of 500kg will be charged as per tariffs. Proof of residency will be required.
