Drug peddler bust just before Mandela Day

He voluntarily handed the substances to the police

Kagiso Police have arrested a 33-year-old suspect in Tshepisong on Monday, 16 July for possession of and dealing in drugs.

The police officers were conducting routine patrols when they received information about someone selling dagga on Harry Gwala Street. At the scene of the alleged crime they found the suspect who allegedly voluntarily handed over a plastic bag full of dagga and four halves of drug pills.

The suspect was arrested and taken to Kagiso Police Station where he was detained. He will briefly appear in court soon on charges of selling and possessing drugs.

Brigadier Themba Maduna, station commander of Kagiso Police, expressed his gratitude about the community’s involvement in helping the police fight crime.

“Together we can really do better to squeeze the space for criminals,” he said.
