From a Beer Fest to a Prime Fest taking place this weekend.

There’s loads to do around town this weekend, make a note of these following events:

Beer festival

10–11 NOVEMBER — Who says beer is only to be celebrated in October? Not Silverstar! From 11am to 10pm on Saturday, and Sunday from 11am to 6pm, in partnership with Heineken, The Square will be the home of the Silverstar Beer Festival. For a R30 entry fee (no under 18s), which includes a complimentary beer/ wine/ cider/ soft drink, spend lazy weekend days enjoying great food, live performances and give-aways. Tickets available via the Silverstar website or at the Silverstar Box Office.

Prime Fest

Prime Circle will host their own music and lifestyle festival, Prime Fest at Casalinga.

10 NOVEMBER — Prime Circle will host their own music and lifestyle festival, Prime Fest at Casalinga, Muldersdrift from 11am. The festival, in association with Jacaranda FM, will feature some of SA’s top acts across a variety of genres from rock to rap to dance in English, Zulu and Afrikaans. Apart from the star-studded line-up, there will be a wide range of food stalls, an AMG Driving Academy Extreme 4×4 Experience, a children’s play area and the launch of Prime Lager. Tickets from R240 per person at Computicket.

13 NOVEMBER — Are you a polio survivor? If so, then the Rotary Club of Krugersdorp would like to hear your story and invites you to an evening meeting at 5.30pm at the Golden Age Village hall in Wentworth Park. Rotary Clubs celebrate the success of eradicating polio each year, and with the help of the Bill Gates Foundation, polio is almost eradicated world-wide. Caxton West Rand and Hearts and Crafts are hosting a Reader’s Day at Usambara Venue and Lodge.

15 NOVEMBER — Caxton West Rand and Hearts and Crafts are hosting a Reader’s Day at Usambara Venue and Lodge. The goodie bags will have magazines, books, pens, vouchers, miniature bottles from Witpoortjie Liquor Store, vouchers, a bow-making thingymajig, a sample lotion plus recipe, and much, much more. That’s in addition to the lucky-draw prizes. The day will start at 8:30am for 9am till after lunch. Cost is R300 and a wrapped child’s toy (marked boy/ girl and age).
