MEC Mazibuko to visit rural schools in Magalies on first day

Her visit is aimed at assessing the schools’ readiness for the 2019 academic year.

With schools officially opening today, 9 January, the Gauteng City Region’s Provincial Executive including the Premier and MECs, will mark the start of the 2019 academic year by visiting several schools to ensure teaching and learning happen on the first day.

MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Faith Mazibuko will be visiting Magaliesburg State Combined School and Magaliesburg Secondary School in Mogale City.

The Magaliesburg State School’s 2018 matrics attained a 56,5 per cent pass. MEC Mazibuko’s visit is also aimed at assessing the schools’ readiness for the 2019 academic year.

She is going to use this opportunity to hand over a mobile trolley library and dictionaries to learners, together with donating sports attire for various sporting codes and indigenous games material.

She will later have a series of engagements with the School Governing Bodies, parents and the local communities.
