Local Market
EVERY SUNDAY — Silverstar has partnered with The Local Market to create a specialised market that promotes small business owners, artisans, musicians, designers and culinary specialists. The Silverstar Local Market provides a platform for passionate local people who are proud of their work and offer quality products a place to showcase their talents and wares. Venomous animals – first responder seminar
2 FEBRUARY — The Friends of Kloofendal presents a seminar on venomous animals and what to do when someone is stung or bitten by such an animal. The venue is the Kloofendal Ecological Centre and the seminar starts at 8am. Cost are R350 per person. Expert Jonothan Leeming will present the seminar. Soccer tryouts

Boeredans
2 FEBRUARIE — Die Tradisionele Boeremusiekklub aan die Wes-Rand bied ‘n Boeredans met egte tradisionele boeremusiek soos gespeel deur die Magalies Orkes, Nico Blom, Stephaan van Zyl asook Ferdie van Zyl. Die byeenkoms vind plaas in die Witpoortjie Ontspanningsentrum op die hoek van Suid- en Vermootenweg, Princess, vanaf 5nm tot laat. Bring jou eie mandjie met eet- en drinkgoedjies saam. Gold Mine Tour
3 FEBRUARY — The Friends of Kloofendal (FroK) presents a gold mine tour with mine historian Rod Kruger from 2pm. Meet at the Kloofendal Ecological Centre. Cost are R70 for adults, R60 for pensioners and R50 for children. Bookings can be done through Karin from FroK on 079 693 5608.
Hike the Koppies
3 FEBRUARY — Join a guided group tour through Melville Koppies Central of up to 4km. The tour sets off at 3pm sharp. You can park in the upper parking area at Marks Park on Judith Road, Emmarentia and then walk across to their entrance. Children must be over six years old. Sorry, no dogs allowed. Country Market
3 FEBRUARY — The Ngwenya Country Market in Muldersdrift has loads to offer for the whole family. Bring your friends and family to the first market of the year. Listen to the fabulous music of Mike the Guitar Man while you sample the yummy eats, coffee and cocktails supplied by great vendors. Meet Michelle from Sure Clothing with her popular Thai hoodies, see Waenhuijze‘s selection of laser-cut décor and choose from Ma Chere‘s tasty range of homemade pickles and preserves.
