Entrance to Leratong blocked by unhappy employees
Unhappy healthcare workers have been preventing anyone from entering or leaving the Leratong Hospital. This includes other employees, patients and ambulance services.
Health care workers from Leratong Hospital have been participating in a non-violent strike since this morning.
According to a witness on scene, the workers are unhappy about under-staffing and unqualified people being employed, among other things.
The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa (Denosa) members have prohibited any employees and ambulances from entering or leaving the hospital.

According to Fikile Oyekanmi, spokesperson for the hospital, there are a number of issues the union wants to resolve with hospital management.
She said they have negotiated with union leaders to let the night shift employees, who have been stuck in the hospital all day, leave.
She said she believes the situation will be resolved quickly.
Tensions were however high when the News visited the hospital and eyewitnesses said they do not know exactly when the strike will end or if it will turn violent.
A patient standing outside the hospital has been waiting the whole day to see a doctor and said she needs to see the doctor today because she has to return to work tomorrow.
Residents using the nearby road are urged to avoid it as there are many cars and people at the hospital entrance, causing some traffic congestion.
