Positive love creates greatness, says local writer

A local writer from Munsieville tells the story of his depression and his healing. He wants to help other young people in the same situation.

For Phillip Ndlovu, 22, the road was not always bright and he struggled to see a happy future for himself, just like so many other youngsters from Munsieville.

He said he wanted to write a book in 2016 and 2017, but something always got in the way and he just did not have the determination.

In March 2018, however, he decided he was going to do his best to achieve his dream of finishing and publishing the book. Although there were still obstacles, this time he did not give up and on 1 February he finally launched it.

Phillip told us how he was very depressed when he started writing the book.

He said his illness and everyday experiences influenced the writing of the book, but telling his story and reading it out loud eventually led to his healing.

Each chapter in the book is either a personal story from Phillip’s life or a story based on the general perspective of the youth of South Africa.

He believes that the youth of our country needs better leadership, starting from teachers all the way up to Parliament.

Phillip is currently studying IT and plans to open his own company where young people can come and express themselves through their art.

He is also trying to start a #spreadlove movement which encourages people to love what they do, love themselves, love each other and love God.

Phillip said he wants to tell everyone who is down and hopeless to never give up, to always dream and to take action to make that dream become a reality.

His book, Knowledge in Zenith, will be on sale at youthxchange.jimdofree.com. It can be bought as an e-book or as a print on demand. Alternatively, you can send him a WhatsApp message on 084 732 3928.
