Big battle for talented people coming – and they want you!
Battle of the Talented aims to discover talents and groom them.
Are you a talented DJ, singer, dancer or rapper? If yes, then this is the opportunity for you to kick-start your career in the industry.
The Battle of the Talented, led by Grizzly Mnguni, (DJ Grizzly) founder of the Wild West Show and a presenter and producer at Mogale FM and Westside FM Live, also known as Boys, offers the opportunity for youngsters to showcase their talent. This initiative started in 2018 when the Wild West Show had an opportunity to promote and be involved in the first annual Randfontein Festive Fever, hosted by Sky Bar and Lounge.
“It gives me great pain to read about children wanting to make their parents proud, but the parents are too busy to support their dream, or very sceptical about their children’s ability,” said Mnguni.
This competition aims at encouraging the youth to work hard, as nothing comes for free. The event will create an opportunity for youngsters to network as they will be competing under one roof, learning and being supported by the community.
The Wild West Show will conduct interviews on Westside FM with the weekly winners of the competition, which will include playing the music of the winner, going through their profiles and giving them weekly rotation on air.
Parents are also encouraged to come and watch their children in these events so that they can support their dreams.
A venue will also be provided for the competitors to offer them the opportunity to shine. A creative media company, 2QT Productions, will be creating posters for weekly battles for publicity of the events.
Registration is now open for all singers, dancers, bands, rappers and MCs at Sky Bar and Lounge at 32 Homestead Avenue, Randfontein. No persons under the age of 18 will be allowed. Weekly winners will be rewarded with cash prizes and gifts from Sky Bar. The registration fee is R150.
