Cradle cyclist collapses alongside the road

While out cycling in a group, a man collapsed by the side of the road and medical response units were called out.

A cyclist passed away in the morning hours of Sunday, 24 February, near the Cradle of Humankind in the Magaliesburg area.

According to reports from the scene, the 40-year-old man collapsed while riding with a cyclist group at about 9.30am.

Netcare 911 received a call from the man’s fellow cyclists and rushed to the scene.

The man was treated on the scene, and received full advanced life support resuscitation. Unfortunately the man could not be resuscitated and was declared deceased by the medical crew on the scene.
