Three-year-old miraculously survives drowning

Paramedics were called to the scene of a drowning after a boy was found in a pool of water. A member of the public performed CPR until paramedics arrived.

A family narrowly escaped tragedy this weekend when their three-year-old son almost drowned.

According to a statement by Netcare 911’s spokesperson Shaun Herbst, their paramedics were called to a local property at 3.04pm on Saturday afternoon 2 March, where a child allegedly nearly drowned.

The three-year-old boy was found unresponsive in a pool of water but, ” … was resuscitated by a member of the public before advanced life support paramedics took over,” said Herbst.

According to him there was “return of spontaneous circulation” and the toddler was then airlifted to a nearby hospital where he was treated for non-fatal drowning.
