The Gauteng Department of Education has issued details of the step-by-step procedure for the Online Admission Application process to help parents apply online.
Online Admission Applications for 2020’s Grades 1 and 8 will be open from 20 May to 22 July. Parents who need to access the online application system can login on to www.gdeadmissions.gov.za.
To make an application, Click on Apply for 2020 and follow the three-step process:
Step 1 – Enter parent or legal guardian’s details.
Step 2 – Enter learner’s details.
Step 3 – Apply to a school.
Parents who struggle with applying online can visit the nearest public school, District Admissions Centre, Community Library or Community Centre, where they will be assisted.
Remember that multiple applications can be made using any of the following application options in no particular order, to a maximum of five applications.
Option 1 – Home Address, the place of residence is closest to the school within the feeder zone. The place system will generate a Reference Number WA1.
Option 2 – Sibling, the applicant has a sibling attending the school. This does not apply if the sibling is currently in Grade 7 in a Primary School or Grade 12 in a secondary School. The system will generate a Reference Number WA2.
Option 3 – Work Address, the place of employment of at least one of the parents within the feeder zone of the school. The system will generate a Reference Number WA3.
Option 4 – 30km radius, the applicant residing within a 30 km radius of the school. The system will generate a Reference Number WA4.
Option 5 – Beyond 30km radius, the applicant residing over the 30 km radius from the school. The system will generate a Reference Number WB.
