Teaching a child about law enforcement

The event was meant to educate children about how the law enforcement operates.

Management at the Krugersdorp Police Station invited two learners from Pro Practicum School to take part in the Take a Child to Work initiative on Thursday, 30 May.

The event was meant to educate children about how local law enforcement operates.

The learners, Wynand Allen and Pricilian Melokwe, were welcomed by the station commander, Brigadier Mashao. They were afforded the opportunity to visit various components of the station, where they were taken through the day to day activities of the personnel.

Wynand and Pricilian were also given an opportunity to visit the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court and West Rand Human Resource Development Council’s training office. They were also taken out to see operational police at work. The station commander encouraged the children to consider policing as a career.

The learners were taken back to their school, where the deputy principal thanked the police for inviting them.
