I-Scrap donations help lighten the load
I-Scrap recently combined their love for scrapbooking with their love for animals when they hosted their sixth annual FORA scrapbooking day.
Every now and then, the community is reminded of the actual cruelty that takes place in our area when Linda Scrace from Friends Of Rescued Animals (FORA) updates the organisation’s Facebook page.
Generally, she tells the stories of the defenceless, abandoned and abused animals that cross their path every day.

FORA, along with the other animal shelters in the area, works tirelessly to not only save these animals but also give them a safe, warm place to stay before they one day, maybe, get adopted and go to their forever home.
The problem is that these shelters are filled to capacity most of the time, and feeding and looking after hundreds of animals is an enormous and expensive task.
The team from I-Scrap Joburg tries to lighten this load once a year, and this year they hosted their sixth annual FORA charity day.

About 40 women met at St Ursula’s School to have a fun day filled with scrapbooking, goodie bags, lunch and laughter.
But before they could even enter the venue, they had to donate something to the cause – pet food, blankets, toys, kitty litter and cleaning products and so on.
The group also sold raffle tickets to raise funds and this year they raised R2 500 which will be divided between FORA and the 9th Day Animal Rescue, Rehabilitation and Rehoming Centre.
They also handed over all the entrance donations to Linda and FORA.
