Baby born in parking lot of former Krugersdorp West hang out
A baby girl was born in a parking lot in Krugersdorp West on Sunday when the woman couldn't make it to a hospital on time.
Krugersdorp West’s Sector 5 Community Policing Forum (CPF) were gathering information about a missing child when an out of breath man approached them, asking for assistance.
He told them that a woman was about to give birth in their car.

The story goes that the man and woman were from Tarlton and had contacted an ambulance when the woman went into labour. They realised that the ambulance was taking a long time to arrive, so decided to drive to the hospital themselves.

They could unfortunately not get further than Krugersdorp West as the car ran out of petrol, and they had to stop to look for assistance. The man reportedly saw the CPF members, and not knowing what else to do, asked them for help. Luckily for him, they knew better than most how to react in this situation.
The nine CPF members moved the car to the parking lot of what was until recently the Lime Light Pub and Grill on Commissioner Street.
Netcare 911 was contacted, and Ashley Vincent-Lambert arrived to deliver the baby.
“At about 3.13pm, a beautiful baby girl was born. A Netcare 911 ambulance transported the mom and baby to Dr Yusuf Dadoo Hospital,” noted CPF Sector 5’s Liz du Plessis.
