Two lives lost in N14 accident

An accident on the N14 where a truck drove into car and left two people dead.

Two people died in an accident on the N14 yesterday, 30 July, afternoon.

According to a statement from Netcare 911’s media liaison officer, Shawn Herbst, their paramedics responded to reports of a collision on the N14 near the Beyers Naudé Drive off-ramp at 3.51pm.

The accident occurred in the direction of Krugersdorp and traffic was reportedly affected.

“Reports from the scene indicate that a light motor vehicle and a heavy motor vehicle were involved in a collision,” explained Herbst’s statement.

The truck allegedly drove into the back of the car.

The statement went on to say that when the medics assessed the scene they found a man and a woman had suffered fatal injuries and were already deceased.

“It is believed the truck drove into the back of the car,” said the statement.

The truck driver was apparently not injured during the accident and all the necessary authorities were on scene.
