Another donation to keep the needy warm this winter

Dis-Chem Pharmacies recently had a blanket drive, for which they provided mounds of blankets from their own stores.

Dis-Chem is continuing its charity efforts this winter by handing out a few thousand high quality blankets to meticulously chosen non-profit organisations all across the country.

Melodie van Brakel jubilantly accepted the 150 blankets that the Valley View Retail Centre’s Dis-Chem donated to the Cradle of Hope.

The Cradle of Hope cares for about 860 people in need every day. They run 12 projects at all times, with 68 people living in their homes for the destitute. They also provide food to 300 people every day. Moreover, the centre needs about R3,5 million every year to function optimally. Somehow, the Cradle of Hope gets this through donations every year, without fail.

Dis-Chem Pharmacies recently had a blanket drive, for which they provided mounds of blankets from their own stores. They then took to social media and asked the public to recommend organisations that needed the donations most.

This was a heaven sent for the Cradle of Hope, because, as Melodie explained, they really haven’t received many blanket donations this winter, and have been in dire need all this time. These blankets will help to keep their residents warm during the icy nights.
