Applications for Department of Tourism internships now open

The Department of Tourism is inviting graduates to apply for one of their many internships.

The Department of Tourism is offering internship opportunities to South African graduates who wish to apply in fields that are in line with the Department’s core business.

Applications will be accepted from only the following fields of study:

Tourism Management / Development

Economics

Information Technology (Soft Development, Data Warehousing etc)

LLB degree

Project Management

Supply Chain Management (Itinerant/ Accommodation)

Internal Audit / Risk Management

Public Management / Business Administration / Entrepreneurship

Financial Management / Accounting

Psychology / Social Work

Human Resources Management / Development

Operational Management / Work Study / Management Services

Construction Management

Communications/ Journalism/ Events Management/ Multimedia

Development Studies

International Relations

Environmental Management

The internship programme is offered for 24 months and successful candidates will be required to sign an internship contract for two years.

If you are an unemployed South African graduate or post-graduate with a tertiary qualification in one of the above-mentioned fields and have not had a previous internship in this field, make sure to apply before 16 August.

Applicants should not be over the age of 35 years.

Interns will receive a stipend of R6 083,75 per month.

So how do you apply? You need to a Z83 form from any Public Service Department and submit the form with your field of interest from the list, a curriculum vitae, certified copies of your certificates, academic transcripts and an identity document.

Without these documents your application will not be considered.

You can submit your application to the Director General, Tourism House, 17 Trevenna Street, Sunnyside, 0002 or post it to Private Bag X424, Pretoria, 0001.
