Ebies Primary going all out for Mandela Day

They are embarking on two projects.

This year Laerskool Ebenhaeser Primary School (Ebies) is going all out for Mandela Day and with your help they can make an even bigger difference. They are embarking on two projects.

The first one is their Containers of Hope project which is being run by two of their teachers, Izan Crafford and Ilonka Jordaan. Parents from the school and the public are asked to donate non-perishable food to their cause.

These Containers of Hope will then be distributed to those in the community and the school who need it most. Children can take their non-perishable food donations to school and place them in one of the containers. Members of the public can drop off their donations at designated drop-off points .

The drop-off points are at:

  • Krugersdorp West Pharmacy (63 Rustenburg Road, Krugersdorp)
  • Alma’s book exchange (43A Burger Street, Monument)
  • Galaxy Cell and Sound (Cnr Robert Broom Drive and Van Oordt Street, Noordheuwel)
  • Ricardo’s Pizza Pasta (26 Fourth Street, Krugersdorp North)
  • Absolute Flowers (Shop 1, Bell Drive Crossing, Noordheuwel)

The school has also been gifted some paint and on Saturday, 18 July the staff and parents from the school will be painting and cleaning the school, all part of their ‘Making Ebies the most beautiful and best in the West’ project.

The school has also welcomed its new principal, Renier du Preez, who said his first order of business is to ensure the well-being of the school, the learners and the staff.

He also aims to introduce modern technology at the school, and Ricardo’s Pizza and Pasta has made it their mission to help with this cause.

They are asking their customers to add an extra R5 to every order, which will then be donated to the school to get new technology for the teachers. They are challenging other businesses in the community to do the same.
