Much-needed donations for the Cradle from mobile telecoms company

MTN recently opened their hearts to one of the community organisations in Krugersdorp and donated food, masks and airtime.

The Cradle of Hope recently received much-needed donations including food, airtime and masks from the MTN Technology Department.

Nellie Craven and Nokhuthula Moletsane from MTN visited the Cradle of Hope offices on Friday, August 20 with boxes packed with essential goods.

Nellie who lives on the West Rand said she read on Facebook about the good work the Cradle of Hope has been doing in the community, adding that the MTN Foundation has a MTN Y’ello Hope initiative which enables their employees to give back their time and effort to communities.

They subsequently suggested the organisation as one of this year’s beneficiaries.

The food parcels they donated included tinned fish, rice, soya mince, baked beans, oil, coffee, vegetables, cake flour, tea, coffee creamer, cool drink and sugar. There also donated boxes filled with masks, as well as airtime.

Dima Tomotomo from the Cradle of Hope explained that these donations would help their feeding schemes. The organisation delivers food parcels to families in need on a weekly basis, and provides daily meals to community members. They also support a school and a shelter.
