Double murder in Kagiso: Two people found dead

Police are investigating a double murder after a man and a woman were found dead during the weekend.

The police are appealing to the community to assist them with information about the murder of a man and a woman this past weekend.

Kagiso Police spokesperson Captain Raymond Sebonyane explained that their members were called to the Soul City informal settlement on Sunday February 6 at about 06:30 after the bodies of a man and woman were discovered.

Police received information from the community that on Saturday, February 5 at about 21:30 they heard gunshots while they were asleep, but they did not go out as they feared for their lives.”

When police arrived they found the two bodies lying on the ground, both with gunshot wounds to the upper body.

A case of double murder is being investigated, Sebonyane said.

It is not clear what the motive for the killings was and no arrests have been made. Anyone with information is requested to contact the Kagiso Police on 011 696 9000, the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111 or use the My SAPS app or SMS number on 32211.
