Munsieville resident publishes second book

Almost one year after publishing her first book, the vibrant 23-year-old Refiloe Raborifi from Munsieville has released her second book.

Almost one year after publishing her first book, the vibrant 23-year-old Refiloe Raborifi from Munsieville has released her second book.

In the first book, You are flamed if you are not free, she talked about the struggles that teenagers and young adults face. Birthed from it, she published Intentional on Christmas Day 2021.

“Writing the first book I felt like the pen was my friend, but now I have found a friend in myself and I felt I needed to be heard,” she explained.

Be intentional; love and healing are part of the struggle and you should be intentional because it is no use sitting still in your struggle.”

Refiloe said while writing the second book she had to let go of the traditions that held her back, and she realised that it took intention to unlearn the things that didn’t take you anywhere.

During this journey of self-discovery she also realised that she did not always have to be quiet to make others feel comfortable. With this book she wanted to teach others that they could say their piece and honour their feelings.

She explained that she sometimes wanted to be a friend to everyone, but some people treated her wrongly and she felt like others sometimes also did that because they wanted to fit in and not be treated as outcasts.

This second book also features poems about things she has taken from her own relationships and her plan to be intentional going forward.

She felt the name of the book should be a whole message in itself, and being intentional could mean a number of positive things.

Her dream is to see her books everywhere, especially in the hands of young girls and women. She has already started working on her third book and plans on publishing it soon.
