Man caught with Mandrax and dagga

During a thorough search of the man's home police found Mandrax tablets and compressed dagga packets.

A 26-year-old man recently found himself behind bars after he was caught with drugs he had been selling.

In a statement, the Kagiso Police spokesperson, Captain Solomon Sibiya said at about 14:20 on Tuesday, May 17 their team pounced on the man suspected of dealing in drugs in Tshepisong Phase 6.

“Members were on their routine crime-prevention patrols, braving the chilly and rainy weather when they got a tip-off about drug-dealing.”

The members followed up on the information, and during a thorough investigation and intensive search of the man’s home police found Mandrax tablets and compressed dagga packets to an estimated street value of R2 500.

Police also confiscated R310, which were proceeds of the illegal dealing.”

The man was arrested and later detained at the Kagiso Police Station where a case of possession of and dealing in drugs were opened. He will appear in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court soon.
