Teen missing while snorkelling in Mozambique

Rikus Kylander went missing during a snorkelling outing in Mozambique. His family is appealing to the public for any information as search efforts continue.

Rikus Kylander (18), a matriculant from Hoërskool Noordheuwel, has been reported missing after disappearing in Mozambique on December 18 at about 13:00.

According to his sister, Clarise Kylander, Rikus went snorkelling with a group of friends at Ponta do Ouro Beach.

When the group got out of the water, they realised Rikus was no longer with them and immediately alerted lifeguards and the police,” Clarise said.

Rikus is about 180cm tall, with a muscular yet slim build and brown hair. He was last seen wearing a blue swimming costume.
