Cops spread vehicle hijacking awareness in Magalies

Pamphlets aplenty were distributed to motorists and members of the public during a mass vehicle hijacking awareness campaign led by police in Magaliesburg.

At least 110 pamphlets were distributed to motorists and members of the public during a mass vehicle hijacking awareness campaign led by police at the R509 Koster Road and Carletonville Road junction in Magaliesburg last Friday, August 26.

The Magaliesburg Police Crime-prevention Unit, communications officer and Magaliesburg Police station commander Lieutenant Colonel Mawewe Vuma were part of the campaign.

The main objective of what Sergeant Kgomotso Mogwere, the Magaliesburg police spokesperson referred to as ‘an engagement programme’ “… was to enhance proactive policing by addressing members of the public about crime on the road. It was also to alert them on how they can be safe on the roads.”
