An elderly woman was assaulted with a hammer in Krugersdorp North in one of eight serious incidents reported to Mapogo A Mathamag Security in Mogale City for the period September 26 to Sunday, October 2.

The security company’s operations manager Ben Willemse explained the incident took place after 16:00 on Sunday.

“A client pressed the panic as they heard screaming noises coming from a neighbour’s premises. On further investigation it was found that a perpetrator who assaulted an elderly lady with a hammer was caught by her son.

The lady was taken to hospital for treatment and the perpetrator was handed over to the SAPS for further investigation.”

1. Monday, September 26 at 11:22 – Housebreaking and theft on Commissioner Street, Krugersdorp Central

Perpetrators climbed over a palisade fence at the rear of the building. They made hole in the roof to gain entry into the building, stole tools and a trolley jack and fled the scene in the same manner.

2. Monday, September 26 at 20:45 – Vehicle hijacking on Viljoen Street, Krugersdorp North

Whilst waiting for his food at a fast food drive-through, the victim was held up at gunpoint and the thugs sped off in his VW Tiguan. The SAPS were contacted and a case of hijacking was opened.

3. Tuesday, September 27 at 15:45 – Theft on Rustenburg Road, Krugersdorp West

Four perpetrators entered the shop, stole items and ran away. The area was patrolled and cell phone cards and a vending machine were recovered and handed back to the owner.

4. Tuesday, September 27 at 23:55 – Theft on Viljoen Street, Krugersdorp West

A perpetrator gained entry and proceeded to the back of the premises where he stole copper pipes and damaged the gas heater by breaking the copper pipes, and fled the scene.

5. Wednesday, September 28 at 15:22 – Domestic violence on Rustenburg Road, Krugersdorp West

When the house occupants fought among themselves the SAPS were contacted and took over the scene.

6. Wednesday, September 28 at 16:21 – Theft on Chisel Street, Boltonia

An employee at the premises was caught taking cash for fuel for his own benefit. The owner of the business will open a case of theft against the employee.

7. Friday, September 30 at 06:56 – Theft of a gate motor on Drill Street, Boltonia

Perpetrators lifted the gate from its rails, gained entry onto the premises and stole one gate motor and the second motor’s battery and motherboard, and fled the scene.
