Car found alight in Silverfields – police investigating
Alleged stolen vehicle found on fire at a park in Silverfields.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a light motor vehicle believed to be stolen that was found on fire at a park in Wimborne Road, Silverfields on Wednesday night, March 12.
CPF patrollers rushed to the scene after 21:00 and on closer inspection, determined that it was indeed a vehicle on fire.
“The Krugersdorp Fire Department was also notified and arrived on the scene to extinguish the fire. Persons of interest were seen fleeing the scene and with the help of the community, some were apprehended. The owner of the vehicle has since been located and brought to the scene to identify the vehicle. Two suspects are in custody and form part of an ongoing investigation,” CPF Sector 8 chairperson Jaco van der Walt said.
Van der Walt confirmed police are investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the motive of the crime.
There were no reported deaths or injuries at the scene.
