Nine arrests in foiled robbery attempt
A week-long joint operation with law enforcement sees 9 arrested.
Police arrested nine suspects last week following a foiled robbery attempt in Kagiso.
According to Gauteng Police’s provincial spokesperson Dimakatso Sello, the arrests were the result of a co-ordinated operation involving Kagiso police, the West Rand Flying Squad, Gauteng Traffic and Gauteng Crime Prevention Wardens.

Sello stated that officers acted on intelligence about a planned robbery believed to be targeting the Randfontein area.

“A suspicious bakkie with a false number plate was identified and stopped. Further investigations led the team to a safe house in Kagiso, where eight additional suspects were found. Officers also recovered two pistols and an AK-47 rifle,” Sello confirmed.
Sello noted that multiple police operations have been conducted during the festive period and urged residents to remain vigilant.
