Hijacked vehicle recovered quickly by police in successful joint effort

A vehicle that was hijacked has been recovered in a joint effort by police and the Department of Community Safety.

Members of the Gauteng Crime Prevention Wardens (CPWs) in the Western Corridor received intelligence about a vehicle hijacked in Krugersdorp West in the early hours of Tuesday morning, January 21.

According to Gauteng police spokesperson Dimakatso Sello, the police acted swiftly and worked together with key role players, including Rentrak Tracker and JMPD, to track down the vehicle.

“Through co-ordinated efforts, the vehicle was located and recovered between R558 and corner Impala Road. No arrests have been made as yet, however, the suspects involved have been identified,” Sello said.
