Armed robbery claims life of security guard in Chamdor

A security guard was fatally shot during an armed robbery near the Chamdor Training Centre.

An early-morning armed robbery on Friday, January 23, claimed the life of a security guard in Chamdor.

According to Intel Drive security patroller Romeo Mbatha, the incident occurred at about 04:50 near the Chamdor Training Centre. Emergency services and police responded swiftly, and the area was secured.

“No arrests have been made. A security guard on the premises was shot in the chest. SAPS were on the scene to collect forensic evidence and launch an investigation,” Mbatha said.
