Business compliance blitz in Mogale City: Numerous infringements identified

Municipality says numerous cases of non-compliance prompted Public Safety officials to confiscate goods discovered not to be fit for human consumption.

The Executive Mayor of Mogale City Local Municipality, Councillor Tyrone Gray joined officials from the Gauteng Department of Economic Development, West Rand District Municipality and Mogale City Public Safety during a business compliance blitz in Kagiso aimed at driving compliance of businesses operating within the city.

In most of the shops visited on Tuesday, August 16, the numerous cases of non-compliance prompted Public Safety officials to confiscate goods discovered not to be fit for human consumption,” said mayoral spokesperson, Phemelo Motoma.

Motoma added that working with all relevant stakeholders in other spheres of government, the municipality led by the Office of the Executive Mayor has committed to ensuring compliance of various businesses, and where there’s failure to comply, the law will be enforced.
