Municipality explains prepaid token glitch

Mogale City has provided an update and their input on the prepaid token issue.

Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) financial management services said they are well aware of a technical glitch that affected prepaid users’ attempts to purchase electricity or water tokens over the last couple of days.

MCLM communications officer Refilwe Mahlangu acknowledged that although payments were successfully processed, recharging tokens were not automatically issued as usual.

If you experienced this challenge after purchasing a token, send a clear photo of your receipt via WhatsApp to the support team on 072 531 2296 or contact Mogale’s customer care team on 0861 664 253.

“They will promptly assist you in retrieving and issuing your token. We are also pleased to inform you that the issue has now been resolved. Thank you for your patience and understanding,” Mahlangu encouraged.
