Section of R563 on the verge of collapse

The recent heavy rainfall has left a section of the R563 in Oaktree on the verge of collapse.

According to councillor Shenan Cochrane, the left lane specifically is affected adding the damaged road is situated as one comes from Swartkrans Go-Karts towards Oaktree just before Bush Whackers Pub and Grill.

“EMS and the Provincial Roads Department are attending to the matter but we urge motorists to drive with caution. This section of the road has many underground caves where it has developed huge sinkholes in the past,” Cochrane concluded.
