Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) has been reliably informed that this is a scam. The man makes contact from this number: 067 201 0689.
“Affected parties should note that the administration of boreholes falls under the national Department of Water and Sanitation, and the municipality has no mandate to disconnect any resident’s or business’s borehole,” MCLM communications officer Adrian Amod explained.
Members of the public are once again cautioned not to make any payments to these unscrupulous individuals,” Amod added.
He says the municipality communicates with residents only through official platforms with verifiable contact details.
“To avoid falling victim to scams, we encourage customers to always verify the authenticity of individuals or companies, who may even pose as municipal service providers,” he said.
