On Sunday, May 18, Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) communications officer Refilwe Mahlangu, confirmed this had impacted several areas, including Kagiso, Brickvale and Muldersdrift.

On May 19, she confirmed teams were dispatched on the Sunday to repair it, however, it was unsuccessful, as the Eikenhof pump station, which supplies the town, has been reduced to 83% to allow critical repairs.

This reduced supply will affect several areas across town, where Rand Water has not provided an estimate when repairs will be finished,” she stated.

She concluded, MCLM has deployed water tankers, with areas experiencing total supply interruption, prioritised, and encourages residents to contact their ward councillors for the locations.
