Water supply halted for repairs – MCLM
On the third day following a major pipe burst, the water supply was completely halted to complete repairs.
With numerous areas without water due to a major pipe burst on May 18, Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) provided an official update.

In a statement from MCLM communications officer Adrian Amod, he stated the pipeline is undergoing emergency repairs and due to the complexity of the line, the system had to undergo more isolation to repair it.
Amod confirmed that pumping at the Eikenhof pump station has temporarily stopped.
This emergency stop has unfortunately extended the impact to more parts of town.
“Given the large number of affected areas, Water Services are securing additional water tankers to ensure access to water. Areas with a total loss of water will be prioritised as well as areas with facilities including hospitals and clinics,” he added.
He pleads with residents who still have water to use it sparingly.
