Recent fire at Bob a concern for the municipality
Mogale City responds to the recent fire at the Bob van Reenen Stadium.
Numerous residents have come forward to share their stories and feelings about the recent fire at Bob van Reenen Stadium. Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) has given their response.

MCLM communications officer Refilwe Mahlangu said incidents like the fire are always a concern to the municipality as a small moment can lead to disaster if not managed well, and on time.
She also confirmed the fire did not damage any of the buildings and other infrastructure at the facility.

“All community members are reminded not to throw cigarette butts onto dry grass, especially in open areas such as parks. These fires sometimes burn more than the grass, which then impacts the state of facilities, which are either damaged or destroyed,” she concluded.
