Eligible Kagiso residents can apply for free basic services

Eligible Kagiso residents can register for free municipal services at the Emily Jordaan Centre until October 10, and applicants must bring all required documents.

Mogale City Local Municipality’s (MCLM) Indigent Management will conduct ward-based registration to provide eligible residents with free basic services.

The registration will be held at the Emily Jordaan Centre in Ward 6, Kagiso, from today to Octobe10, from 09:00 to 14:00 each day.

MCLM’s communications officer, Refilwe Mahlangu, confirmed that residents will need the following documents for registration:

• Proof of income, the latest three months’ bank statements, or if you’re unemployed, an affidavit to that effect
• SASSA confirmation letter (if you’re a recipient of social grants)
• Your certified copies of identity documents and those of your spouse and your dependents latest municipal account, and your pre-paid electricity meter number
• Proof of your marital status (marriage certificate, divorce decree, proof of customary union, or a death certificate)
• Letter of authority/ executorship (If the property and municipal account are not in your name)
