Heavy rain delays burst pipe repairs in Breauanda

Repair work on a burst pipe in Breauanda was delayed due to unsafe, waterlogged conditions caused by heavy rain, with teams now back on site to complete the job.

Following a burst pipe on May 3 in Breauanda, the Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) has provided an update on repair efforts.

The MCLM assistant manager for media and PR, Refilwe Mahlangu, said heavy rainfall and waterlogged ground conditions prevented repair work from proceeding on May 6.

“It was unsafe for workers to operate under those conditions. However, teams have since returned to site to complete the repairs. If the weather holds, we expect the work to be finalised today,” she said.
