Eikenhof maintenance may affect town's water supply

Planned maintenance at the Eikenhof Pump Station next week may reduce water pressure in Krugersdorp, with officials urging residents to prepare for possible disruptions.

The Eikenhof Pump Station, which supplies Krugersdorp, will undergo planned maintenance next week, which may affect water pressure.

Refilwe Mahlangu, the assistant manager for media and PR at the Mogale City Local Municipality, said the maintenance will take place on May 29, during which Eikenhof will operate at 91% pumping capacity.

“This planned maintenance, scheduled over 12 hours, is aimed at improving the reliability and long-term sustainability of the water supply system,” she added.

Mahlangu encouraged residents to prepare accordingly and ensure they have water stored in advance.

In addition, Eskom will also undertake maintenance at Rand Water’s Zuikerbosch Water Treatment Plant, which supplies water to the Eikenhof Booster Pumping Station, on July 17.
