Drop safe bombed in Tarlton

In a separate incident, perpetrators walked into a shop and pointed firearms at the staff and took cash and a cell phone and fled the scene.

A bombing occurred in Vlakplaats, Tarlton in one of 11 serious incidents reported to Mapogo A Mathamaga Security in Mogale City for the period Monday, October 10 to Sunday, October 16.

The security company’s operations manager Ben Willemse explained the incident took place at approximately 02:51 on Wednesday.

“Perpetrators proceeded to the premises’ drop safe and placed explosives at the door and bombed the drop safe and fled the scene on the arrival of reaction units without taking anything.”

Details about other incidents:

1. Wednesday, October 12 at 06:50 – Theft and arrest, Barret Road, Wentworthpark

On arrival of response units the premises was inspected and perpetrators were found stealing items. One suspect was arrested for theft and all stolen items were recovered, the perpetrators were handed over to the SAPS for further investigation.

2. Wednesday, October 12 at 07:48 – Attempted theft of gate motor, Viljoen Street, Krugersdorp North

Perpetrators gained entry from the rear of the premises where they attempted to break the gate motor bracket but did not manage and fled the scene.

3. Wednesday, October 12 at 15:15 – Theft – Rustenburg Road, Krugersdorp West

A perpetrator driving a Ford Ranger filled up with R2000 petrol and drove off without paying.

4. Wednesday, October 12 at 00:20 – Business break-in and arrest, Fountain Street, Krugersdorp Central

A perpetrator climbed through a window of the premises and attempted to steal items and when the alarm activated he tried to hide. On arrival of response units the premises was inspected and the perpetrator was found hiding and was arrested and handed over to the SAPS for further investigation.

5. Thursday, October 13 at 00:20 – Attempted business break-in, Monument Street, Krugersdorp Central

A perpetrator attempted to gain entry into the premises by damaging the locks of the roller doors.

6. Friday, October 14 at 12:23 – Housebreak, theft and arrest, 3rd Street, Krugersdorp North

A perpetrator forced open the back door and safety gate to gain entry into the house, on the arrival of armed response units the premises was inspected and a perpetrator was found hiding in the bathroom and was arrested and handed over to the SAPS for further investigation.

7. Friday, October 14 at 22:35 – Trespassing, Marico Street, Burgershoop

A perpetrator climbed over a palisade fence and razor wire and attempted to open doors when the resident noticed this they made alarm.

8. Saturday, October 15 at 06:50 – Housebreak and theft, Vlakdrift Plots, Tarlton

A perpetrator gained entry onto the premises and broke a small window to gain entry into the house and took parts from an old washing machine.

9. Sunday, October 16 at 01:30 – Armed Robbery, Commissioner Street, Krugersdorp

Perpetrators walked into the shop and pointed the staff with firearms and took cash and a cell phone and fled the scene.

10. Sunday, October 16 at 01:06 – Business break-In, Monument Street, Krugersdorp

A perpetrator broke the back door of the premises and stole a flat screen television and a cell phone and fled the scene.
