Flooding havoc across the West Rand: Places to avoid in Krugersdorp

Mogale City's Emergency Services confirmed the subway in Luipaardsvlei and the bridge on Robert Broom Drive, Drift Boulevard in Muldersdrift and Ammaryllis Street in Rangeview is flooded.

Flash floods were reported across the West Rand early Friday morning, December 9 due to heavy rainfall. There are also reports of flooding in various parts of Mogale City and motorists are urged to take caution and make use of alternative routes if possible.

It has been confirmed that Robert Broom Drive in front of the Jehovah’s Witnesses have been closed due to the bridge being flooded.

Reports have also surfaced of flooding in Pinehaven, between Pinehaven and Heritage heights.

Gerhardt Nieuwoudt, Regional Commander of Mogale City’s Emergency Services said at the moment, it is only the subway in Luipaardsvlei and the bridge on Robert Broom Drive, Drift Boulevard in Muldersdrift and Ammaryllis Street in Rangeview that is flooded. He said that things are looking better but there are many trees that have fallen and they are working on clearing those.

There is also a collapsed tree in Bell Drive, Noordheuwel.
