MEC of Community Safety visits Krugersdorp

A surprise visit from MEC of Community Safety, Faith Mazibuko.

Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Community Safety for Gauteng, Faith Mazibuko, visited various parts of Krugersdorp recently to inform the community as well as business owners that their safety is government’s top priority.

The surprise visit started at the Durban Deep Mine where talks surrounding safety within the mine were discussed and what preventative measures can be taken.

The convoy then moved to President Square in Krugersdorp’s CBD where the MEC spoke to shop owners and community members.

Walking around President Square, the MEC was surrounded by a squad of police officials, as well as Councillor Mark Trump.

“I am here to assure the people of Krugersdorp that they will be safe this festive season, hence why I am here today,” said the MEC.

The convey continued to Key West Shopping Centre where the MEC also spoke to local shoppers, shop workers and shop owners. Then it was off to the roadblock on Paardekraal Drive in Krugersdorp that had started long before the surprise visit from the MEC. This is where the entire team ensured that all operations were being handled professionally.

“I want people to know that I will be working hard this festive season to ensure that everyone remains safe and enjoys the festive season,” said the MEC.
