Kennies little feet to fill big shoes in big school

The new set of Grade 1's at Kennies received a warm welcome and was brave enough and ready to start big school in 2023.

It’s that time of the year again as parents wiped away their children’s tears, even that of their own, as the separation can be too much at times with the start of a new school year.

On Tuesday, January 10, Laerskool Kenmare officially began the 2023 academic year by welcoming Grade 1 learners and parents who had waited in line for their children to meet the school principal, teachers, and Grade 7 prefects. Most importantly, they were all eager to ring the bell, a long-standing school tradition.

Teachers happily carried a pack of tissues for the emotional parents while comforting and reassuring them that their babies will be fine, have fun and are in good hands!
