“I feel like there is so much pressure on people to achieve academically and then they [learners] feel like they are not good enough which creates a huge issue in modern academics where people are defining themselves by the magnitude of their academic achievements,” he said.
Being top achiever to Aidan means that he has the opportunity to excel in something that he feels he is passionate about yet he says that it does not mean that learners should not be as happy because they achieve in areas that are not academically related.

Speaking on the preparation for the exams and matric in general, Aiden explained he had to switch up his recipe and find something that works for him.
“You need to find a learning style that works for you, and you need to be honest with yourself,” he added.
“I have some friends who tell themselves that their learning style is listening, so then they do not need to write notes, as long as the sound of the teacher’s teaching washes over their ears they will be fine,” he said.
From Krugersdorp off to Stellenbosch is where Aidan is heading having applied to study Computer Sciences at the University of Stellenbosch. He further explained that he hopes that fellow matriculants will search the various career paths that will align with their passions.
“There’s a variety of degrees out there,” he advised fellow matriculants.
Aidan also told the News that support structures are pivotal to learners however, learners need to be able to rely on themselves too. Proud parents Craig and Nadine Naudé say not only do you have to support your child, but you also must study with them, “Trust them, they are going through a lot, but it will all be worth it in the end.”
