To celebrate his achievements, Tebogo’s mom hosted a braai and invited many of her son’s friends so they could just relax and have fun.

“I invited friends who supported me throughout the year,” he said. Not only did Tebogo do well at his school but on Friday, January 27 he was invited to the Gauteng West District Academic Awards of which he received an accolade for Technical Science and Technical Mathematics as the learner with the highest marks.

The most prominent challenge for the young man was load-shedding.

“Because of where I stay, there was no electricity at night so I would have to study during the day and sleep at night. And I would advise anyone who is in the same position as I am, to do the same,” he said.
