Mapogo A Mathamaga Security is appealing to residents to be on alert as they reported high incidents of theft that took place between July 3 and July 9. Numerous incidents of assault and robbery were also reported across Krugersdorp.

The first reported incident of assault and robbery took place on 4 July at Helderblom in Tarlton in the evening at about 23:26. According to a statement from Mapogo, the robbers gained entry by breaking a window which led them to the staff room. The staff members were threatened at knifepoint which led to two of them being stabbed. R800 in cash was taken whereafter the robbers fled the scene.

The second incident was a break-in and theft in Surrey Avenue in Lewisham that took place on 6 July at 03:32. The premise was broken into by cutting the electric fence. The garage was forced open where a welding machine and an electric saw and a ladder were stolen.

The third incident involved a business break-in and theft that took place in Human Street on 6 July at around 08:33. The thieves broke in by breaking through the roof and removing the burglar bars in the window. They fled the scene as soon as the alarm went off.

The fourth reported incident took place in Rustenburg Road in Tarlton on 7 July at about 23:19. The perps entered the property by removing two slabs on the prefab perimeter, they then broke off the padlocks to the storeroom and stole six mattresses and plastic containers.
