End in sight to Mogale’s water woes – municipality

Municipality expects water supply to have fully recovered but said some high-lying areas may still experience low water pressure.

After almost one and a half weeks of water woes, Mogale City Local Municipality is pleased to inform residents and water users that the town’s water system has reached levels enabling the city’s reservoirs to fully supply water.

According to municipal spokesperson Adrian Amod, although some high-lying areas are still experiencing low water pressure, water should be fully restored across the city.

“It should, however, be noted that water supply may still be affected by airlocks in the pipelines subsequent to the system being empty for several days. Water supply can also be disrupted due to pipe bursts because of fluctuating water pressure.”

Amod further encouraged residents to report any further problems they may face in their area regarding water.

“Communities are requested to report any further water problems for immediate attention by Water Services,” said Amod.
